Finally, the Z8 is not too bad as a drag machine...

To get 1/8 mile ET, divide the 1/4 mile ET by 1.54, and subtract 20 from the mph. This will give a pretty close number.

In the case of the Stock M5, from the numbers mentioned by ME, this would become approximately 8.7 @ 87.

Thanks guys.

I suspect a Z8 with a few thousand miles on it would have done much better in the slalom.

Ice M, you should do the Z8 driving experience- It was amazing and youll have the chance to drive someone else's Z8s as hard as youd like to

hey alpywhite,

I wouldn't worry too much. It really takes quite a long time to perfect a launch, especially as the HP goes up and with a stick shift.

With a 107 mph 1/4 mile speed and a perfect launch, an M5 would be running 12.8s

My best ET at 79mph was an 8.6.

MEnthusiast: Wow thanks... at least I got a GREAT comparison of the beast doing 1/4 with other cars out of asking hehe

SSMOKEM: Hummm I didnt know that by dividing the 1/4 mile ET by 1.54, and subtract 20 from the mph u get a good esitmate.

Hummm I ask becuase if you noticed in another post reciently there was a 1/8 drag race at Qualcomm stadium and I saw that a lot of the cars there did upper 8 secs... So I wanted to compare... Uh o... from these number does that mean the beast wouldnt really kick butt?
