talking Video: minutes on the top speed limiter, driving on Germany's Autobahn in the night

Between 2 and 4 o'clock in the night on Germanys autobahns. Lovely

On youtube:

Google video will come as well.

Also some video mixing support is needed: do somebody know how to get rid of the horisontal "blurring lines" as you can see in the video? I recorded it in Digital HD Video, and the .avi that are on my computer looks good. It is only when I savethem in Windows Movie maker these blurre lines come up, and it ooks like they only show up when moving the camera?

Nice video Gustav! I liked your comment: "this is almost getting boring"... Now that's what I call a splendid evening cruise... radio on, slower cars whizzing by like they are standing still... I'm jealous!!!

The image artifacts you are seeing are "fields". Video images are usually recorded so that first one set of lines is recorded like lines 0,2,4,etc. and then 1/50th (1/60th in USA) of a second later the other set 1,3,5, etc. This is done to get smoother movement.

However this sucks on a computer screen that doesn´t know what to do with fielding. On a computer screen you see both fields at the same time which is no problem if the camera/subject is stationary - then there is no difference between the fields which are 1/50 th of a second apart. However, if there is movement, you will notice it and see the movement that occurred in the 1/50th of a second between the time each field was recorded.

I don´t know how to use Windows Movie Maker but what you need to do is to find an option for "deinterlace" on export to WMV. This will result in much better video files for computer use.

Nice vid btw, but 270 during the night!!! I only did my top speed runs during the day when I was on the Autobahn last month (http://www.onno.is/thordur/m5/Eurotr..._und_Queen.wmv). This was also recorded in HDV and I used Premiere to export the video with the deinterlace option checked => no scrambled lines. I managed to do 300 km/h near the end of the video - I have the AA software in my car - delimited

I would also hurry to drive that car

Regarding the original files, are you viewing them in Movie Maker? Maybe the program is doing some trick to display the files non fielded on the computer screen. Also the scaling the fielded footage to a smaller size may amplify the problem.

Ok, maybe Media Player is getting smarter at displaying fielded footage.

Do a test, find a part in the video where there is alot of movement and pause the video. Can you see a "haircomb" effect, ie. difference between every second line in the video?

Also, have you found the deinterlace option in Movie Maker? If so, give it a try

Love the 'play by play' Gustav... where you say.."once again..stuck on the limiter"...

Or the spot where the transport pulled out in front of you and you made the cut in the tape.
