Remove front License plate?? Should I?

Hey everyone,

I am in Boston right now ('Mass-Hole!!') and eventhough it is not legal for me to have no front license plate, i wanna take it off. Anyone know of the penalty involved in getting caught with it off??

Another thing too, if anyone has pics of their car with no plates on the front, could you post them??

BTW: If anyone is interested the MBWorld board had a thread about these 'Bumper-Plugs' that can be place in the holes that are left once the frame is removed:

Thanks in advance!

I dont necessarily want to be police bait, but I ran 2 years with no front plates on my 540.. I was in school in Boston but went down to NYC often.. no problem... Just wanted my car to look clean...

I really can't speak for Boston but front tags are also mandatory in VA. I asked the dealer not to install mine though and so far so good, but it's only been 1263 miles, 4 weeks 3 days and 11 hours, but who's counting. In VA, a "no front tag" ticket is not a moving violation, but it can draw some unwanted attention. For me, it's worth the risk, I really prefer the look..

I would take it off in a heart beat. That's the first thing I ask when I bought my beast. If it already had the holes or front license plate frame, I'd look for another one.

It's not fair at all, why would the Corvettes only that could get away with no front license plate.

ahh yes good to see many people share the same opinion as me... It reallly makes the M5 look different, if even more aggressive now that the gaping huge hole in front is not blocked... I better go check on that moving violation thing..

Just a side note, people in Tax-achusetts who have the 'old' green-white plates can go with the no front look... people who have the 'new' red-white plates must have a front plate.. WTF!!!????
