2003 NEW Mercedes E-Class (E55)

Hi All:

Saw this picture of the New 2003 Mercedes E-Class and wanted to share with you fine people.

Mercedes claims a 306-bhp, 5.0 liter V-8 will replace the E430's 275-bhp. Also a supercharged version of the 5.5 liter V-8 will go into the E55 AMG, give it power equal to that of BMW's 400-bhp. The E55 however, only comes with automatic transmission unlike the BMW.

I think the front of this new "E"-class looks like the current CLK & the rear is very similiar to the current new C-Class. I prefer the current E-Class than the new (More classic).

I wonder what the next 5-Series (E60) REALLY looks like, I heard the ///New M5 is going to get least 450-bhp from ///M-Motorsports.

Comments are welcome! Thanks and Enjoy the post!

Regards,
JIMMY - 540/E430/328ci/X5-4.4i

German cars

I like Bmws but I have to admit that the MB are very well made cars.

I think that this car looks very similar to many Benzes...I like classic designs...

What kind of stick is that ? Looks so ugly...

Best regards.

Guys (and gals),

Let's be objective here. I agree that there's a common thread that's woven through the MB models. But I also think the same can be said for BMW. A person (albeit one who's not really into cars) could make the argument that all BMW's look alike.

The next generation M5 is very likely to have a V10 producing 500 hp.

I think this is a nice evolution. The problem I see with it- and other cars for that matter- is it looks like the front was designed by one person and the rear by another. also on the front- the lights are very aggressive- then you have the grille and the emblem- both a bit "uptight". until they address these items I think the design will look a little conflicted. Overall though I think I like it.
