BTW at an intersection near my house I noticed Friday night a bunch of self tapping sheet metal nuts, either 3/8 or 5/16 in size. Sunday I went there and picked up over 30 of the nuts myself. It amazed me that no one seem to notice or care but with $300 tires I cared a lot.

I take tire punctures seriously.

I sure hope so. Tires and brakes are 2 most important aspects of our vehicles, don't matter what we drive. Just like what Michelin says..... because so much is depending on it.

Safety is always important.

I'd go to your local tyre dealer and get them to check it out. If they think there may be an issue, they could take the tire off the rim and put a safety patch on the inside of the tire, just to be sure.

To visualise what might happen: unknown to me I picked up a screw in my right rear tire last week. Very slow leak which I didnt notice until it was too late. Coming off a fairly tight highway offramp at speed (50mph), the car suddenly experienced extreme oversteer (as the car was leaning on the right rear tire which was deflating). Luckily the offramp widened from 1 to 2 lanes at that point and I managed to (just) catch it. With concrete barrier on the inside of the curve and bushes and trees on the outside, I hate to think what *could* have happened...

Yup.

Never thought that it would happen to me...but it shows how much of an impact tire pressures can have on a car's handling. After this demo, I will start to check tire pressures on a weekly basis again.

One of the dangers of low profile tires, because of the relatively stiff sidewalls, you don't feel the tire 'wobble' as you would with a deflated 'normal' street tire.

I can report that the car behaved fine during our spirited drive yesterday. Quite foolishly I forgot all about it once the game was on. I plan to have it looked at before our next get together, but it has lost no air at all since I removed the screw the other day.
