raced 911 gt3 today

hey all thought yous would be interested in a straight race i had today against a black 911 gt3 ,it came up behind me exiting the a14 we went round the roundabout and both nailed it on the dual carrage way from about 40 mph,
i love the 911 gt3 its the car i want one if i had the cash but it wasnt as fast as i thought it would be ,it only pulled away slowly but it did continue to pull away, the problem is that my brakes are standard so i had to ease of early because we were coming up to a roundabout but he kept his foot down to the last moment the gt3s brakes are awsome he must have been doing 150-160 mph ,my missus wasnt to impressed!! she told me to grow up!!! haha
well its not everyday one gets a chance to race there favorite car eh!

You need one like mine!!!

Who a couple years back came out with "Why are you allowing him past" as I allowed an M3 to go by on a European motorway. My simple response was " Well at 150mph at night, with you, the kids and a boot full of luggage in the car I think we are going plenty fast enough"

I've never let her live that imortal line down......

So you gents believe an e39 will stay with a gt3???...... I don't rightly know about that....having driven one it pulled harder than the beast couples with the fact that it is lighter as well.........maybe from a rolling start like on a highway..okay....but from dead stop off the line??? nah no way. don;t get me wrong I love my Beast and would not give it up for even a gt3.......but like the man said..." a man has to know his limitations"

Regards
MCar

Fit some big AP's or Stoptechs, add a few suspension goodies, a set of headers and cams and he might find it even harder to get away. Ofcourse he would, but it would irritate the heck out of him with a 4 door saloon pushing him hard
