Are used M5's really selling like this? - The Unofficial BMW M5 Messageboard (m5board.com)

If you search for all the 2000 (and 2001) M5's listed on http://www.AutoTrader.com/ it returns 40 cars for sale that range in price from $74K to $100K and in mileage from
basically zero up to 10K.

Of the 40 listings, 7 are purportedly private sellers and the other 33 are dealers. Of those 33, the vast majority are actual BMW dealers.

Are people REALLY still getting above sticker for used M5's? Or is this all just wishful thinking? It seems wacky what with dealers having available allocations and all that jazz.

I check ebay, and it turns out that people are bidding on people's allocation spots. not the cars themselves, but just the allocation spot. the two current bids are going for 15k and 30k each. that's OVER msrp and whatever more the dealer will charge.
