My friend's M3 convertible

My friend just picked up an M3 convertible. I took it for a quick spin. VERY COOL!

the cars styling is a little bulky (all new BMWs will be this way btw) and black helps minimize that.........

nice car- so how did you like the driving?

BMW made the M3 intentionally "bulky" to set it apart from the other 3 series so that people can't just add M mirrors and such to make it look like an E46 M3. Its the flared fenders that make it look bubbly.

I only drove it for a quick second since it only had 75 miles on it. So obviously I didn't push it. I couldn't tell about the power, but it was a much harder and louder ride. But it is convertible so you can't expect the quietness of a hardtop. The quad exhaust tip in the back look nice, but the M5 has a more pronounced rear skirt, whereas the M3s looks pretty plain. One thing interesting is that the M3 has holes for the air intakes right next to the front fog lights. I believe this is the same thing that others on this board have done themselves. I wonder why they did that with the M3 and not the M5. The fun factor on that thing is definitely high!

Need better wheels.....

The overall looks good but I honestly think that the wheels gotta go.... don't look good on it.

Just a thought....

Looks Great, how does speed and acceleration compare to the M5?

Rahim,

Couldn't really tell. Since it only had ~70 miles on it, I didn't want to punch it.

Maybe its just me, but it seems as though the clutch was easier to use on the M3s (both coupe and convertible), than the M5. For those who have driven both, agree? or disagree?
