Radio Annoyances (MKIII)

Three quick questions..

1. Any way to "Freeze" the "seek mode" of the radio? I like to ALWAYS use "seek" to find the next station, and use the "sensitive" mode. But the radio never remembers this, and always defaults back to the Preset-Scan mode. So each time I want to seek to the next station, I have to press "SELECT" three or four times, then press the right knob to set the setting, and THEN use the seek buttons to scan. A real PIA. Any way to fix this?

2. Any way to re-assign the steering wheel radio-scan buttons to do "seek" as mentioned above? They always do a "preset-scan" no matter the above setting.

3. I do not have the BMW phone or bluetooth modules - (I have a 7/2002 Build 2002 M5 with a MKIII unit). Is the "R/T" button supposed to do anything? The manual says it is supposed to change radio modes (FM, CD, Tape), but mine does nothing. Normal? My dealer claims it is only for the phone when installed. Can these two buttons ("R/T" and "voice") be re-assigned to other radio or NAV functions?

thanks.

I may not be understanding your question but you can always obtain the seek mode on the radio by pressing and holding down the up and down arrow keys on the steering wheel.

I did not know that (thanks), but I hate audio manufacturers who use that... in a crowded radio market, it's VERY HARD to scan to the next station which might be .3 or .5 up the frequency dial with the "press and hold to seek" buttons. Not happy about that!
