Rain sensing wipers

I am pretty sure that the m5's came with rain sensing wipers. I just wanted to ask if mine are operating "normally".

Here is what I have noticed,

1) When I turn the wiper on just one notch the wiper goes and starts working with amount of rain fall on the windshield. But when I park the car and restart it, and its still raining, and still in the delay setting the wiper does not come on. I have to manually turn it off and on to work again.

2) When I have it on the first notch, and it starts to rain alot, the wipers catch up to full speed. Once it does so and the rain slows down, my wipers do not stop. They keep going as if I was in the second notch setting. Is this normal? Then I would have to use my delay feature to slow the wiper down...

To me almost seems like its working half the time. Any suggestions?

Number one is normal, prevention of wipers comming on in a car wash so you do have to turn off/on or move the small lever one notch and back.
Number two, not sure, but the they are sensitive to the speed of the car and rain fall amount...

I think its all in the ops manual though

Once on the first notch they should speed up and slow down until you shut the car off, after that you must turn off and back on to first notch to continue auto mode.

My first '00 beast had the rain sensor but my current '00 does not, since it needs to be adjusted with the delay dial then you may not have the auto sensor. A quick pic of your rear-view mirror and I could tell you if you do or not. If you do not then that would explain complete normalcy for your questions, but if you do then you might want to clean your window as it can only sense rain correctly with a non-cracked/chipped clean windshield.

send a pic over and we can see

hope this helps!
