Track day Pictures

Was at Buttonwillow Friday, March 10, 2006 and had an awesome time. The weather was in the 40's and 50's and rained only during lunch, go figure. In a few of the pictures you can see a Lotus trying to keep up, but unfortunately for him, the Beast was too much. Although, that says more about the driver than my car. This is the first track day with my newly installed front strut tower brace and the Dinan rear sway set to hard and they really make a difference. Turn-in was excellent and I was able to control the rear better with the throttle.

Only one other M5 came out and he was able to terrorize some Vett's and other performance cars to show that we are still a threat on the track.

Enjoy

Hi Tom,

i have raced superbikes on the track before, but never had the chance to go around in a car. Knowing a bit about race tires I was wondering were you running normal road tires or do you have a set of softs especially for track days?

I must say I feel too sorry to throw my beast around like that, but must add that it looks like you know what you are doing there on those pics!

Have fun!

Rudi

Ducman69,

Thanks for the post. I think I read about the Lotus being compared with a Porsche in a recent Car & Driver. It doesn't have as much horsepower but is extremely light. I think you're right, the driver kept the M5 ahead of the Lotus.

Cheers for the pics and summary, looks like it was a fun day.

Is the Lotus an Exige or Elise, can't quite tell. I read that the former is a much better track car.
