Seriously. I've never been snowed in. Never. It's ALL driveable. I really don't get it. Call me weird or the outside example, if you wish.
Good point. I'm sure you being an ex cab driver gives you a lot more confidence in the snow. Sounds like I just need to get a dog.

But when the WB says it's going to be nice... time to play.

Every poster left out the single most important point. If a small smile doesn't crease your face during the test drive (check via the rear view mirrow) the car is probably not for you.

I picked up the 2003 M5 yesterday. Made it back late last night. This is a wonderful car and one heck of a daily driver. I keep bumping up against the 90mph limit I've set almost every time I go to pass; this with the car in 6th gear. The acceleration above 60mph is unbelievable for its size. I've really got to focus on my speed. In my older 7 series, I knew when I was speeding. With this one, it really is unintentional. I think I'll lower the warning back to 80mph until I get a feel for just how fast I'm going.

Everything on the car is working and it is very tight. Brakes and steering feel good and the suspension and lane changing is precise. This is all a person can ask for in a car. And being fully warranted is great for a change as well.

Anyway, thanks for all the great advice. Here's a photo I took in the garage. I'll wait for good weather to take some better shots.

Congratulations! And... great looking garage. Do tell -- what lurks beneath those two covers behind the M5?!

Covered up is my other favorite car maker..

a '79 SC with SSI headers and dual out Dansk muffler, lowered, 21/27 Weltmeister hollow torsion bars, Bilstein sport shocks, S03 tires.
Owned for 22 years. Refinished entire entire interior last year including adding sport seats.

'96 C4S with RS clutch, LWF, RS Gears, Motor Sound, M030 US suspension and S02a's. Next project is to add M030 ROW suspension and lower the car.

Great looking pair! Love the 993. I had a '77 911S years ago with the leather Recaro sport seats -- most comfortable seats I've ever had!

Welcome to the board.

BTW - who makes the lift you have in the garage? Would be interested in more info if you compared the different manufacturers. I need some extra space for more toys. PM me if easier. Thanks.

Congrats on the purchase!! The car looks wonderful..

Quick question.. any info on your wheels? They don't really look very Shadow Chrome at all. Is there something I'm missing? Maybe the '03s have lighter rims than earlier models.
