Bone Stock M5 Dyno Tune

What are the benefits to this IF any?
Theres an advanced dyno dynamics Dyno at a place in North Scottsdale named DynoComp and I was wondering if a STOCK M5 would benefit from a good tune?

What are the benefits? Well for one, you will know what YOUR M5 is pushing. Even straight from the lot, there is a fair degree of variation between each Beast. If you don't get within the range of expected numbers, that might indicate you are in need of a check (MAFSs, compression check, etc.)

If you decide to go for it, make sure you follow DavidS' outlined procedure for a proper dyno run.

After all is said and done, watch out for the mod bug to bite!

Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought there wasn't anything that could be "tuned" on a modern BMW ... modified, yes, but "adjusted or tweaked," I didn't think it was possible.

"tune" not really. Check the power output yeh. If you find it's low then check all the comen things. You then could "mod" the car with a custom chip which would "tune" the engine. So it depends how you want to look at it. But you can't just show up and "tune" it no.

You know, a "tune"...

adjust points, gap the plugs, set the timing...change the air filter.

Oh, that's right to adjust the timing, fuel, etc, etc requires DME programming at a cost of $1000

Anyway- the fact that there is no tune possible yet they are offering a "tune" is cause forsome concern...

Not that bad at AA Autowerks, About $600. Send them your ECU overnight and they send it back overnight. 2-3 days down time

Found a thread on PowerChip and posted on it just now.
Thread is 3 years old I was wondering if this company makes a similar product with more advanced technology now??

People all claimed higher gas mileage and a slight increase in acceleration & smoothness

If you chip it, it wouldnt be stock now would it?

In all seriousness, the only real way to tune it (without a chip) is to install a piggyback ECU and use a laptop. However on the stock setup, you probably wont find much power (if any)
