I did a bunch of reading on this and determined I was just as well off to stay with the stock NGK's...but not the BMW labeled NGK's because they're twice the price. I changed them at 50K.

Are these difficult to change yourself on the beast?

I stayed with the Stock NGKs too, although many folks have gone the Denso Iridium way. Here is a post that may help you decide.

Spark Plugs: Denso Iridium or NGK Iridium?

Can be done with proper tools and patience

I've done it myself and I am not that good with mechanics.. although I will try anything once

The only thing that I found was that the rubber gasket over the plugs was a bit bigger than the surround it was meant to seal so it was a bit of a bugger to get to stay in place.

I went with the OEM NGK.... god forbid you break the engine some how and if you have different plugs then the game is up. Sure you could replace them with the BMW ones but its just a hassle... stick with OEM - they used them for a reason and they are not woefully inadequate.

good : we all concur ...

great minds think alike ...
fools seldom differ ....

I'm going back to stock plugs
actually the BMW dealer > Vines >
did me a good deal and beat the internet price

£6.60 -10% each

you can always tease them by asking for Cooper S plugs and see what they say ...
