What's it worth?

2000 e39 M5, Jet Black with black full leather interior and Burl Walnut wood trim, all options except rear shades, which were not available with full leather option on the e39 M5, Bluetooth added last year...I have owned it since new and has been serviced by United BMW, 108,000 miles and just broken in good... The dealer offered me $24k on trade. I have it listed in AutoTrader for $30k...what should I expect to sell it for?

It depends on how strong the resale market for your car is in your community. Do you want to private party the car? The car is worth what someone will eventually pay for it. I went through the same thing with my highline car. Do some research. Ebay is great for seeing what the national market is bringing for your vehicle. Watch to see which auctions are ending and see what the cars are getting. That is how I ended up "taking" what I thought was an unreasonably low number for my trade in. After the research I knew that it could be months before I sold my trade. I want to invest the money to defray the lease on my new M5. Hope that helps.

the dealer's offer doesn't sound that bad to me....i own a 2001 with 49k miles and would only expect it to be worth in the mid to high $30's...not that i'm selling though. but if i was a buyer would i rather pay an extra $12-14k for a year newer with 60k less miles....you bet...imo
