New mods

Yesterday I brought my beast to a 'local' shop to get a SuperSprint X-pipe and rear mufflers. I also had it chipped (should be around 430HP and delimited).

It's snowing right now, so I haven't had the time to see if I can really feel a performance gain.

The sound of the exhaust is nice. It is a little more rough than the stock exhaust, but certainly not too loud. I'm quite sure the girlfriend won't notice. And if she does, she won't mind, since it's still very very acceptable.

Oh.. you will definitely feel a difference. And you will come back here on type with a huge smile on your face.

And you can take that to the bank!

From the 430hp figure I gather that you have the SS headers also?

Chipping only would be 30 hp gain... The guy that performed the mods is an expert 'chipper', he wrote the program himself, and claims 30 HP gain. From other people having their cars dynoed after being chipped by the same guy, I've heard that the hp gains he claims are not optimistic, rather understated.
Anyway, I have no before and after dyno result, so I'll never know exactly. I'm just waiting for some traction-friendly weather, to see for myself.

Headers might be one of the next mods... I'm now thinking about a clutch, and a shortshifter. I only found out yesterday that this guy can get me UUC products, let the modding begin!

That is the first time I´ve heard of such large gains with only a chip on the M5. Wonder why other expert tuners cannot replicate this on the S62 engine.

Well, I don't know if he's telling the truth, and I haven't been able to do some kind of testing. As soon as the weather gets better, I'll post results. I only hope his estimate is about right

Ok.

The new exhaust sounds much meaner than stock and driving will be more fun once the snow clears

Kind of funny that you have snow in Belgium when there is no snow here in Reykjavik, ICEland

Hi, Since you are also in Belgium, may I ask where you got this modification?

Thanks, and have fun

30hp from a reflash? Come on. How would Dinan, AA, BMW!!!!!!!!! Powerchip and everbody else not be able to get that but one guy can. Take the car to a different dyno and show me that.
