Aussie Top Gear Mag article pdf

well I hope this is legible.
Talk to Canon and Dell (also Adobe) if it is not, just don't blame me!
A light insight into the M5 ute, disagree with the references to Apples' supposed wealth (not about how, or not wealthy he is, just the questionable need to describe him as a zillionaire etc)

i saw the beast again late last week at Bunnings. I saw the man himself too busy shopping around for stuff. The car took about ten mins for a crowd to draw around and for them to get the camera phones out....looked sensational sitting there in the sun.

Hi Andrew .
I love Bunnings (Home Depot)
Utes been a dream to drive.
Drove it back from Summernats and at slap on 100kph (60mph) It will get 30-32mpg.
On the return trip of 670klm it averaged 27mpg with much of at 115kph... pretty happy with that.

Had the stock resonators put back on, this has taken some of the loudness out but I now need to get a VASS certificate to give to from Vic Roads
The tests are for emissions, noise, and many other checks as the vehicle is no longer a sedan, and the agency needs to know it's compliant.
Not sure how I can drop the volume of the Kelleners as it's won't pass as it is now.
Would taking off the X pipe be a big help?
Maybe putting the Tubi back on for the test would be fine and get me to pass.
I would like to make the sound a bit deeper and get rid of just a bit more of the edgy sound it has now.

Got any suggestions?

Apples

You asked for it...
Easy drive by
YouTube - M5 Ute easy drive by sound clip
More of a go.
YouTube - M5 Ute more volume

I don't have any of the slightly softer sound yet with the resonators on.
Video really doesn't do justice to the actual sound/volume of a car/ute.
If you look up a few posts ago "Stuart Appleby's MUTANT ute" you get a Top Gear clip they did in OZ...Dam loud in that clip.
This was before the resonators

I'd try it and see mate, you need to try something to move forward, i wonder what the sound difference between the Kelleners and the Tubi would be. I haven't had a Tubi on an M5 in the shop before so don't know the sound that comes from it. Try the x pipe off and tubi and see how she sounds. Interesting about the testing procedures though through Vic Rogues.....um i mean ....Vic Roads.

Apples, may be a long shot, but Milltek makes an exhaust (at least for the RS4) that is valved, such that the valve opens at a touch of a button and makes it louder. Granted, the RS4 has this built in feature stock, but call them up. I know Milltek def makes an exhaust for the M5, maybe they can valve it. I personally love it on my RS4. G/L!
