X pipe is just about on with the high flow cats.

Shane made a trip to Sydney (7 hours each way, there and back non stop drive...crazy) to pick up the glass for the sails and the rear window glass as well.
He was worried about fitment, but he's very happy.
He's also fitting new front glass as well

The roof is done and ready to be glued down for good.
I can't remember the exact amounts of clear coats laid on the roof but I think there was something like 3-5 coats with some of the black paint that was used on the ute mixed with clear to tint and darken the carbon, just like the effect of sun glasses.
Then another 3-4 of normal clear to finish it off, then polished.

Seeing that the roof is always at the height of reflection (people in the 5' - 7' range) it will show the carbon more then the rear lid and hood in the same light as you'd be looking more down on those parts more.
Shane says he's very happy with the final "look" and says you can see it move when the suns the right direction (you can see that in some of the shots)

It turns black when in the shade to look like the rest of the ute.

Only a week to go till she leaves the shop for the Ute Muster (won't be under her own power)
Probably a good month before I get her out for good (fingers crossed)

I might have some shots of all the parts pulled together on the ute in the next few days in the sun, then the next batch will come from the muster.

Gotta to get him to fire it up this week, to see how she sounds.
It's been asleep for 2.5 years.

I love the carbon fiber roof that fades to black, especially in the 2nd-4th photos. Very unique.

Seeing the interior lights hang down makes me think... have you thought about lighting? As in interior lighting, such as using LEDs and whether you want more of a bluish tone, or white to the light. Also the illuminated door sills? I'm just thinking what the UTE will look like at night.

Overall, fabulous job! I've been watching this project for a while and it's exciting to see it's finally coming together.

is the roof faded or is it just how the picture was taken? Gorgeous roof!

The roof isn't black but the normal grey-ish black that carbon comes in.
There was no fading of the look on the roof, just the added black & clear coats to be sprayed on to reduce the grey look of the carbon and get it to turn black more offten.
I've not seen it in the flesh yet, so I don't know how it actually looks, but my guy is very happy, and he's been more then right once in this project..
