Santa came.
I went to SRC and took what I hope will be the last shots till I see the ute finished
The brace was done and driven up by Gary on the 26th Dec for a fit and look.
I swung by to grab some shots and have a chat.
Many thanks go out to Ken Bollard at Manuflex for letting this part of the project come together in his machine shop.
Gary mentioned that there's over 250 hours just in this rear brace.

The wheels will probably get changed significantly.
I will get the black centres changed to a brushed/satin finish and the lips are chrome right now.
They have a bit too much "bling" being that bright, so we might brush the bright polish out of them to make it more dull or have them reversed in a chrome shop and just bring then back to just alloy.

The brace may not really make a huge diff to the function of the ute from a performance point of view, but once polished up it will be a trick bit of work.

So far there's over 1,000 hours from the SRC end and another 250 in the brace.
Paints got another 200 and then putting it all back together should be pretty easy.

The PPG paint has an invoice value of AUD$6,800 and thankfully it's been donated by PPG....got a break there.

The last picwas taken out in the county side that you find in the arid drive you get to find the SRC shop.
It's normally got a fair amount of rice crops this area, but now just a dusty plain because of the total lack of irrigation water.
Weather at 35-45Dec C won't help (95-110F)

Apples,

That's a wild ride. Thanks for sharing the You Tube video. Most definitely will need to roll the rear fenders.
