Stuart Appleby converts E39 into unique racer

I don't know if you guys caught his profile show on the golf channel. I was pretty amazed. He is converting his E39 into a high performance el camino looking thing. It was a great show. He was also shown racing his modified M3 track car. He is a very fortunate person and very humble to say the least. The conversion was not done yet but from the drawings of the final product it looked pretty impressive. Hopefully he drops us a line when he is done.

I am just catching on to this project now in Mid December. I am generally on the E60 M5 page all though I did own an E39. (Loved it) The whole thing is very cool. You have done an amazing job on documenting and keeping everyone up to date on your venture. I have always pulled for you on the golf course and to know you are a huge car enthusiast all makes sense. Looking forward to seeing the wheels installed and I love the color of the Cams. To be continued.

wow!

Just found this thread!

Being someone who misses his 1970 SS454 El Camino, I love Apples' project. Wonderful workmanship and both Apples and the craftsman have a great eye for detail!

Wonder what an E60 Camino would look like.....

How are you ever going to have space for sheep/barby/bathtub/manure in your ute with a strutbrace?

Stunning piece of work!
