WOW..........

I finally stumbled across this thread. This is Extremely excellent work your doing. So what if some of you guys thinks he's crazy. He just wants to be happy and we should stand behind him 100% in his efforts. I honestly was like WTF? when I first read the title. But When i started to view the pictures and the progress, I realized that this guy is not insane! To do what he is doing takes alot of guts and risk. He's original!!!

Just a few more pics of a vist I had a few weeks back to check up on the Ute.
The rear lid is 90% done.
We're looking at adding a wider, but flatter verion of the GTR hood bulge on the rear lid.
From a side point of view this will flow visually from front to the rear.

The rear lid is too heavy, so I'm in disscussion with Aaron at Stealth on Vorsteiner doing a carbon version, hopfully the cost will be OK?

Well It was to be done about now (that was my call 6+ months ago) but as you can see, it looks about done but hundreds of hours are left in prep+ paint and geting all the wiring back in to the new body, suspension tests and so on.
My sisters got her wedding in April, so I'll be back then, so I've given Shane that as a time line I want to drive her out of the shop.
By then it will have been about a 2 year project.

BTW...The DPE wheels arrived, looking very nice.
Only one problem was they came with black centers, I wanted just the plain satin finish.
I found out that "satin" is what they call their satin black (couldn't see that on their web site)
First time a finish is actually a colour.
No biggie, we'll get around that when the time arrises.
Shane likes the black even before I put the order in, it might be a bit too Batman in all black, but very stealth for sure.

-I can't wait to see the wheels on it!

p.s. Have you considered changing the DPE center caps to BMW roundels?

Here are the rims on the ute (no rubber)
It looks like the rears will need the lips rolled just a few mm.
