The action of the rear gate laying down has had Shane in a bit of a twist for a few weeks.
We didn't want to do the normal ugly exposed hinges that are on the OZ utes.
The normal ute has flat back side, so it's easy to do a twin hinge.
To add to what wouldn't be problem with a normal ute was that the tail gate is rounded in shape on the beemer so it makes two hinges function impossible.
But a solution has been found that gives us the movment we need and doesn't lift the gate up too much higher then the main floor when layed down.Normally they would be a flat match so things car slide.
The only thing I want sliding off this ute are chicks off the sweet V hood!
Maybe some might stick?
....I regress.
So Shane decided that a single hinge in the center of the gate will seve well, be hiden and functional with the curved gates action.
I'll have pictures of the fully skinned gate in the near future.
