Yes it is a very weird thing to do to a BMW legend...no two ways about it.

Each to his/her own.

It's "web board" intrest probably comes from the fact that no other crazy out there would do to such a thing to a great car.
This seems to drive some people around the bend (can think of better things to do then rag an M5/ute loving idiot) on some obscure "put in your 2 cents" web forum/s

I'm building this car/ute for myself, and what my life as a kid on a farm meant to me and what my more crazy habits have become.

I expect most of the people to see this project and be turned off by what I'm trying to create, but the quality of the work can never be seen as anything less then very good.
Bag the idea, but not the SRC team.

Why not a beaten up 3, 5, 7 series?
Too easy, and they both hold nothing special to me, and have been done before, crap quality

One thing for sure it will be a world first.
I'm pretty confident no other idiot would do this to an M5....(maybe onother one for the US might be an idea .)

It will be my ute for ever and a day...NOT 4 SALE.

BTW...I hear that the GM (Holden) Ute will be making it's way to US shores in the years ahead.

I'm going to have the www.m5ute.com web site up and running in the next few months and I wonder if I should have a "forum" section on there?
Sould get some interesting comments.

^^LOL @ the idiot comment. Well, cant' say you don't have guts. I'm sure you will be more than satisfied with the end product since you have a passion for this.

And I definitely think you should have a forum section on your website. A few of us here, including myself, have had our posts deleted and are censored from voicing our honest opinion on such a controversial project. I'd definitely join as a member so we can have true healthy debates and post up our honest opinions, comments, and suggestions.

Good luck!

We need videos as well

Petey Pop and SocalDJ, I deleted one post each of you where you where discussing if it was it was a worldwide phenomena or not leading to any quality to the thread, just argument between two members that can be doen over PM. We can discuss that over PM if you feel to discuss it further.

I actully got my man at SRC one of my spare video cameras, so I hope he's taken some progress video?
I know I did a bit when I was there in Dec for 5min, but I've not checked up on if he's continued with it with the stages since then....fingers crossed.

It might be a few more months before I get back with some more progress shots.
Not sure what's on the cards for the next section of work.

I think he's getting the custom made glass done for the back and side windows?

Apples,

Can't wait to see more pics.

By the way is this your way to relax before the big weekend?

Best of luck

Apples - shouldn't you be focussing on the golf? Aren't you doing OK in the US Masters at the moment?

Apples, you just redeemed yourself on 18. Well done...here is my true champion. Two great shots on 18, as if nothing happened on 17. And don't forget your birdies today.

I still think you are currently the strongest man in the field. One free membership in my Motor Sport Country Club for you, if you win tomorrow.

All the best
