Looking Good Appleman,

Now this is what I call a Tramp Rod.

I have a few shots tucked away of Yoda in original form.

When shane has finished Pulling bits off the rear suspension, and replacing them, I think side by side pics will be

Yoda is no longer a saloon, he is an UBER UTE from the ground up.

Looking good, Apples! It's starting to grow on me. I like it. It'll be ready for uh... winter, I guess. At least in that hemisphere.

As for off topic, that's my job! :p (then I get a slap in the forehead..'don't do it again', etc)

You might be right about me turning an M5 in to a ute, it's just a sickness I share with a few people.

MB that are utes driving around CA.
Now an AMG Ute would be interesting.

That red car in the back ground was a car that was raced in the 50's in OZ F1 I think, a famous car.....not sure what car it is?
It's now doing some hill climbs with some good ole boys and is getting some wheel guards because it's used in the wet at times and I think the regulations might need them on?.

Shane built the the body just based on pictures he was given from the owners.
It was burnt down and nobody would take it on, but what he's done to it is perfect.
It is one nice car.

What are you intending to do with the cab roof Apples? The way it's currently open makes a massive sunroof an interesting proposition...?

Kees I won't be doing anything with the roof in respect to glass.
The original sunroof will be replaced with a CSL like carbon verson or maybe just steel?

Still some more thinking to be done on what CF direction I go on different areas of the ute.

The OEM sunroof is very heavy, so loosing some weight up high is pretty important.

When it's all done the roll center will be much lower and the overall package will be stiffer for better performance the stock.

I wouldn't think the original BMW sunroof would work as there isn't enough space for it to retract under the headliner.

What I was thinking of is a removable tilt steel sunroof along the lines of the Porsche 944 Turbo. It clips out in seconds and the power mechanisme is only for the up-down movement. Combine that with a removable/retractable rear window and it would be great for wind-in-the-hair driving.
