Winndshield Washer Question

After using the windshield washer jets a few times on an extended trip, the “Washer Fluid Low” warning appears in instrument cluster. However, a visual check of the washer fluid reservoir white plastic container on upper left side of engine bay with blue fluid, right? :-) ) shows it is only down about 1/3 from the top. Is this warning level normal, am I checking the wrong reservoir or is something wrong? Thanks for iany help you can provide.

/Rich

You have 2 bottles one for normal one for intensive, they should be right beside each other and labeled.

Rich:

I just had the same warning this AM and filled up. The clear WW fluid holder was 3/4 full. The one to fill is to the right and a couple inches further back. It's a longer neck sticking up with a picture of a windshield. it is black (at lease mine is).

Intense washer is for mud and other things that mess up your windshield. BMW sells a concentrate, although I don't know if it is any more effective than standard windshield washer fluid. I mix water with ww fluid for "regular" and use the ww fluid uncut for "intensive". Keeps the snow off my windshield in Florida!
Regards,
Jerry

Interesting... although i would see the utility of sucha choice on a big SUV, which could indeed be covered in mud, i think it's a little "too much" on the M5, which, as far as i know, is meant to go off road

Anyway, thanx for the tip

Best to all

They (BMW) says it helps with the miriad of squashed bugs ... which I have plenty of after an "outing ..."
