What options does your M5 have?

I was just curious to see the count. I have all 4 options and love them all.

The shades are great when a truck pulls up behind you at night, or when you don't want to look at the person driving behind you.

PDC is fun to get really close to things while backing up or pulling forward.

Fold down rear seats always come in handy for fishing poles or a trip to Home Depot.

The M-audio isn't high end as I'm used to but it is sounds clear as the speed increases the output.

Hello,
I hope I did the poll right - since I have all four, I selected the last one only. (I don't know if I should have or could have clicked on individual options plus that last choice.)

I haven't noticed the volume change on my M-Audio with speed as you mention here. Is that true? Do I have to enable this feature? Thanks.

From the factory? No options. I've since added M audio though.

I gave the 2001 M5 Brochure to the guy I sold MY2001 to. i beleive it said, "Speed Sensitive Volume Control" Someone else may chime in...

Full leather was an option, but when I think "options," I think of the 4 above.

I have all the options listed and love 'em all. I find the PDC actually quite useful as I'm not interested in "parking by braille" with my beast. Additionally I like the extra security knowing something in my blind spot isn't going to get me!

Yes, our cars do have speed sensitive volume (I don't think it is limited to the M-audio option only though). It is referred to as GAL (German for something I'm sure) and has a setting between 1 and 6 ranging from the least effect to the most. I personally like to set it so you don't actually notice the volume increase with the increase in speed and as well you don't notice the ambient background noice drowning out the music. Anyway, the setting can be found in the "secret" menu as follows:

1. Turn the Ignition off, then turn back on all the way to Position 2.
2. Immediately Press and hold the rectangular "Select" button found on the right column of buttons. Hold for at least 15 seconds.
3. Briefly release the "Select" button and then press it again until the submenu Titled "SERVICE" comes up. Navigate this sub-menu by pressing the button under the "Select" button that has the < arrow and the > arrow on it.
4. Adjust the speed-sensitive volume level (GAL) by pressing the number buttons on the left-side column (1-6) that you want to set this at.
5. Turn Ignition off to save the settings.

Enjoy

Rear sun shades were not available with the luxury interior. Hence, I have the PDC, M audio, and fold down rear seats but no sun shades. So I have "all" of the options available with the luxury interior.

I have PDC, Split seats. I also have the rear spoiler deletion. In white sans spoiler my car attracts very little attention. I had a Lemans blue M5 that got tens times the attention of this car.

From the factory, only PDC and full/extended leather. No folding seats was my choice for a variety of reasons. As noted above, no shades with lux interior.

Added Nakamichi amps, 8" sub (thanks Daniel) and JBL speakers, much better than M audio.
Regards,
Jerry
