Recommendations on aftermarket M5 clutch?

What is best aftermarket clutch to daily M5 driver?
I drive very hard and drag style sometimes.
Is SPEC st1 or st2 OK?
Please recommendable me reliable aftermarket clutch.

From what I could gather I decided on an 11" UUC clutch and flywheel replacement. The 9.75" stock is just too small. I'm hoping the 50% increase in area will make the stock feeling organic hold up to abuse. I pick it up tomorrow or Friday. I'll let you know how it turns out.

why does someone always say "do a search"? That could be the answer to all questions as I'm sure 99.9% of topics have been covered....

That's easy to answer.....you'll see the "do a search" response posted on most any quality forum that digs deep into technical matters. In fact, some technical forums actually ban newbies for asking questions before searching. I think that's a bit extreme, but I understand why:

Rehashing/regurgitating highly detailed explanation & reasoning is totally unnecessary. Most subject experts are not around at every moment in time, so this is not even feasible. In addition, knowledgeable folks are generally not willing to rehash this on a frequent basis because they'd rather focus on unanswered topics. These "M5 Clutch 101" newbie questions literally come up weekly.

After readily-accessible archived sources are exhausted via search, intelligent followup inquiries can be made to clear up remaining questions or confusion.

I agree to a certain extent as some members may have updated experience since the last time around. In addition, searching sometimes yields an overwhelming number of responses leading to an overload....just my 2 cents.....either way, this is a great forum, you just need to search sometimes, no big deal.h

All the UUC clutches seem to have some extent of somthing wrong with them. Some type of chatter or noise.

I'm awaiting some more info on the dinan, sadly they dont publish much on them.

SO maybe the best is the stock clutch.

It takes less time for one person to selectively search & read than for a dozen or more folks to collect their thoughts and offer concise opinion. This is a fact.

In this case, the burden is simply being transferred from one person who wants spoonfed to diligent social workers who endeavor to school the world and end hunger.

Revisiting topics that have been beaten to death seldom provides additional insight. A library of information is never "too big" when electronic searches are possible. Many filtering parameters can be used, including post & thread dates, so smart searches will not be overwhelming or lead to overload. Features allow review of the most recent theads ONLY, if you only have 5 minutes to spend reading. I would suggest an "Advanced Search".

I would add that if you wonder if thoughts or opinions have changed, it's so easy to add a reply and bring back an old thread, rather than starting a new one.

The short-lived OEM clutch is notoriously prone to failure & incapable of tolerated spirited use for a reasonable period. I have never seen a more sub-standard clutch installed in a factory vehicle of any manufacturer, over the last 40 years. IMO, this weak unit is not good and definitely not "best".

Higher performance clutches offer higher durability & capacity with some reasonable, well-documented drawbacks. Most folks are willing to trade some neutral rollover or break-in chatter for durability and a reasonable lifecycle. Most folks are willing to trade some exhaust noise for more power. Other folks are willing to trade some ride comfort for better handling etc.

Break-in chatter for the new Dinan clutch has, in fact, been reported by forum members. This is to be expected when clutch disc lining is significantly more aggressive than stock. Break-in chatter generally subsides with miles and use, no matter if it's Dinan's overpriced stuff or some other brand. It's not much different than performance brakes....they aren't for everyone.
