Sorry about that - sucks!

If you need another stereo shop, let me know. One that KNOWS the e39. This car needs an installer who understand the OE system. Not sure if he does or not, but it is not simple. Very different then an e46.

Thanks

Got a rear bumper question for you guys.

It seems that a stock touring rear bumper is pretty plain in style and has no M queues to it at all..correct?

Is it a simple as ordering an M bumper for the touring wagon....wasn't an "M" package always an option for 5 series cars?

It seems that the guys that have gone for the rear M5 looking conversion have just added the M5 bottom valance to complete the 4 pipe trick.

I'm getting to the stage that I need to get some parts ordered.
Thanks

Got a rear bumper question for you guys.

It seems that a stock touring rear bumper is pretty plain in style and has no M queues to it at all..correct? YES.

Is it a simple as ordering an M bumper for the touring wagon YES, BUT ORDER THE ONE SPECIFIC TO THE TOURING....wasn't an "M" package always an option for 5 series cars? I ONLY KNOW FOR THE TOURING IN THE US IT WAS ONLY AVAIL IN 2003.

It seems that the guys that have gone for the rear M5 looking conversion have just added the M5 bottom valance to complete the 4 pipe trick. IN GENERAL, YES. DEPENDS ON WHAT 4 PIPES YOU USE. IF YOU'RE USING YOUR ORIGINAL M5 QUADS , THEN THE BOTTOM M5 VALANCE PIECE ITSELF SHLD WORK, I'VE BEEN TOLD.

I'm getting to the stage that I need to get some parts ordered. IF YOU HAPPEN TO BE ORDERING PARTS HERE IN THE US, THE GUY I'M USING FOR MY LONG LIST OF PARTS IS GREAT. EMAIL IS vbashikian@crevierbmw.com.
of course, not sure how shipping will affect your total bill, but he gives a great price, and is great for hard to get parts..

Thanks
APPLES

hope that helped.

sound system install update...

now i can post his name. admir, of phix audio. (yes, he's a 1 man operation leasing a spot from another company. but his service and dedication gets an endorsement from me.)

summary:

short version. boy did he make it good.

long version: the goal today was: if he did not make it work, he was going to take everything out, i get a full refund, period. everything back to stock. no questions. he asked for a full day, this time coming to my home, to make it right.

yesterday (monday), he calls me, and tells me he knows what he did wrong. it didn't make me any happier, but i have to admit i was impressed.

today: he shows up about 11a. by about 330p, i get a listen. holy !@#$%, in a good way. i put in some cds. switchfoot, journey, acoustic alchemy. i am very , VERY satisfied.

while i'm not thrilled that it was a bumpy start, at least i know how i will be taken care of when (not if) things go wrong. THAT's how i get to measure one's true professionalism. kind of like u don't know how safe a car is unless they slam it up a wall a few times at the highway institute for safety.

only downside: i need a woofer. i had a chance to listen to it with the woofer. oh my goodness. what did i get myself into? it's going in end of this week.

jack

ps.: final list of mods submitted as we speak. here it comes!!!
