Steve Dinan recommends Yokohama Adva Neova tyres
Press release it looks like:
Dinan Hearts ADVAN
JDM super-tire is the first choice for the DTM super-tuner.
by Press Release
January 25, 2006 - This press release is hot off the newswire! Now the DTM guys with cash can enjoy some of the best rubber to come out of Japan!
It's a match made in performance heaven: high-end tuner Dinan has chosen Yokohama's ultra-high-performance ADVAN Neova tires as the exclusive fitment for its highly modified BMWs and MINIs.
"This is a perfect partnership because Dinan is highly respected among BMW
enthusiasts, offering the performance and quality BMW drivers demand," said Jim MacMaster, Yokohama executive vice president, Business Division, "and our new ADVAN line, with its high-performance handling and phenomenal grip, is the ideal complement to Dinan's legendary suspension enhancements."
After numerous street and track sessions in Dinan's 640-hp supercharged M5, equipped with the Neovas, Dinan CEO Steve Dinan said, "By far, Yokohama's ADVAN Neova is the best street tire I've ever tested. Great road manners with the kind of grip you typically only see with a showroom stock-racing compound tire. I'm very impressed."
Dinan, which featured ADVAN Neova tires on its lineup of cars at the Jan. 6-15 LA Auto Show, will now offer Yokohama ADVAN tires exclusively, making them available through its expanding network of more than 130 Dinan authorized BMW/MINI Performance Centers nationwide. Dinan and Yokohama plan to work together on a number of upcoming enthusiast events, ride and drive programs, advertising campaigns and other promotional opportunities.
We'll never be able to afford a Dinan-tuned vehicle, but we can maybe weasel our way into these upcoming enthusiast events. We'll be sure to let you know when these ADVAN/Dinan events go down! Stay tuned!

Recommended for good reason. They are much like the Yoko A046. but better in the wet. For those that don't know, the A046 is pretty much a track tire for the streets. It will grip the road like nothing else on the road, but when it gets wet, not so great.
The Neova were designed much like the A046 but they offer better wet traction. They are expensive though but well worth it IMHO.
Car and Driver recently did a test on a number of different tires and the Neova was one of their favorites.

Exactly. Not ready for prime time for us yet. Sizes do not sync-up. Hope so in 2006.

advan sports are actually the better all around tire, imo
the neova's have a treadwear that would make you think they were an R-compound...

For serious drivers interested in a great tire, check out Falkens new Azenis, the RT-615. I run them on my track car and they are simply awesome: amazing grip with very good treadwear. If OEM M5 sizes arent out already they will be out soon as more sizes are released.

Steve dinan rides Yoks for free!
Of course, this is the heart of the issue...
Pretty soon, arguments over tires will be ended with "well, if they are good enough for Steve Dinan..."
It is simply that he was bought... it is a business deal. Might be a great tire too, but that would be secondary to the announcement of a distribution deal.

I wonder if Dinan will ever align themselves with Costco.
