just wanted to know if the car runs great but SES just came on, what could i be in for ? will it shut off if it's minor stuff, i'll have it scaned this weekend, i was woundering if it occurs alot, or not??

I know, a pretty panicky event.

My first light was at 44k miles... hard to tell you of it will be often!

Given your mods, you might want to invest in a Peake reader. Maybe give you a leg up when going to the dealer.

I bought the Peake reader and the last two SES lights turned out to be false alarms. The Peake reader enables you to reset the light.

Have had a Peake code reader for years ... the one I have doesn't fit the M5, so as soon as I get a light, or run out of warranty/maintenance I will buy the new one.

It saves you from a lot of grief and allows you to reset, so you can complete you own maintenance, if you want ... and, most importantly, know what is going on BEFORE you go the the $tealer or independent repair shop ...

I recommend it highly ... no BMW owner should be without one ... It's a "no brainer" as they say ... my $ .02
