Break caliper seized, wrecking a set of front disks and pads.

£800 from Munich Legends to replace the lot - including the caliper.

Warranty Company (Auto Protect) say that it "isn't a mechanical failure as seizure is something that happens over time" so they won't cover it!

They're also dragging their heels over a replacement instrument binnacle with faulty pixels.

Rubbish I'd say and I'm signed up to them for 3 years!

Edit: Car only has 20K miles!

Def interested....

I'd be looking for complete drive train, aircon, electrics (inc mirrors, dash, nav etc) and mechanical items such as the sunroof. Can't think of anything else that would scare me to replace that I haven't already...

Cheers

I can't figure how to update list of expiry dates!!

Anyhow, mine is due 11 April 2006.

Re wish list - comprehensive engine cover (inc VANOS and MAFS), drivetrain, catalyst failure, all electrics(incl seat motors),dashboard/SATNAV/TV ,Aircon and Xenon headlights!

Also, what will their position be re modified vehicles?

What max single and annual claim limit will there be??

My 2p worth!

Does this mean the price is flexible based on mileage? Mine is only @ 53.5k (ish) and do less than 5k a year...

Interesting that under "SEALS" they state "All major seals & gaskets" and then in "EXCLUSIONS" gaskets are listed as being excluded? So would they include the head gasket or would it be down to how they feel on the day?

Is there an excess to pay?, a limit on cost per claim?, number of claims per year? Do they have agents they expect you to use for repairs rather than the stealer? What is there policy on mods?

And this statement concerns me "Please note that parts not listed are specifically excluded."

I'd want it as comprehensive as possible so 5 * for all the items excluding:

Quote:
TURBO UNIT

All components including inlet and exhaust turbine shafts, bearings, bushes, wastegate devices. Turbo cover ceases at 7 years or 80,000 miles (whichever comes sooner}
Obviously not an M5 specific warranty then... unless of course I have one fitted without knowing it

I'd prefer to see:

Covered:

Engine, drive train, electrics, aircon etc

Exclusions:

Minor items inc, service and general wear and teare items, tyres, petrol, blah blah blah

Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to be a party pooper, but before I commit I would want to read all the small print first. And to be honest you are only talking £200 less than BMW...
