got a problem NEED HELP.....

Alright guys, I’m coming up with a code that is (A2-Crankshaft/Camshaft position corrolelation cyl #5-8) What does this mean, which sensor is this and were is it located??? Car is really down on power. Feels like the timing is retarded. Slugish. Then all of a sudden it will just run good again. No body seems to be able to tell me what could possibly be wrong. Any body that could get back to me with any help or info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Again,
Tim

I had that failure, along with a few others:
Crankshaft/Camshaft Position Correlation, Cyl #5-8
Exhaust Camshaft VANOS position control, Cyl #1-4
Exhaust camshaft VANOS position control, Cyl #5-8

“Blatty” Exhaust note, poor acceleration (timing retarded?)

Confirmed CPS(Cam Position Sensor) failure - it would come and go. It did set the SES light on the dash.

I pulled the codes, to make sure I knew what was up, then had the dealer do it under warranty.

There are a few posts/threads on part costs and doing the swap yourself.

Hmmm. That would have been useful info in the original post....

Sounds like you have a spare CPS that is still good ...

Look at the bright side: it probably WOULD have failed...
