Does your M5 like your wife/girlfriend/significant other?

Apparently mine doesn't. I'm off this week so I scheduled for my wife's SUV in for some warranty work. She has an aerobics class in the morning so I told her to take my car. After 20 minutes of discussion on how she can't drive my car, I convince her it's ok. She takes it around the block and she did fine. Just hasn't driven a stick in a while. Off to class she goes. A little later, she's home and I go out to check the car. When pulling into the garage, she pulls in so far she kisses the deep freezer and looks at me like 'should I keep pulling forward'. I'm yelling to back up. Oh, and did I mention the clutch smell? Yup, my new clutch. I should have given it to her to break in for me...it would have been a much quicker process. An hour later, we head out to pick her car up. A few miles up the road, the FM stations go 90% static. The weather is bad, but not that bad for all the stations to get wacky. Switch to CD and hopefully it will clear up later. Not in the mood to deal with it right now. Further up the road, I'm sitting at a light and the SES light comes on. WTF!. I'm pissed now. But nothing I can do. I get to the dealer and pick up her SUV. I pull out of the dealership and the brake light goes out. Holy Christmas, what else now? I mean, is this car telling me never to let my wife driver her again? Do they really not like eachother? It's like a cat fight. Ughhh!

Re: Does your M5 like your wife/girlfriend/significant other?

My wife doesn't like to drive it b/c she hates the way I "inspect" when she returns. And the new Eisenmann exhaust is not helping the cause any either.

I know the feeling, it seems like the ses light comes on everytime she drives it, must be from lugging the engine.

Waiting for my new mafs come in from DavidS.

Re: Does your M5 like your wife/girlfriend/significant other?

The first day I had my M5, my wife opened a soda and sprayed the dash with it. No food or drinks allowed!!!!

I owned a C4 Porsche for some time and she never drove in it till 2 weeks before I sold it.

Re: Does your M5 like your wife/girlfriend/significant other?

Wife knows I'm over the top anul about my car and will not drive it, no way, doubt it even if I were in need to a drive to the hospital. I think she'd rather carry me first. Agreed, its the pre and post inspection advsory review and debriefing that might set her off. Car does not know of her yet, thankfully. I guess the passenger seat headrest bouncing thing off her hair clip while accelerating, is enough for her to hate it, so my car stays safe.

My M5 loves my fiance, but my fiance doesn't love the M5 (because I love the car so much). She does one day want to drive it though, but she has yet to master the manual transmission

Re: Does your M5 like your wife/girlfriend/significant other?

ya know all these women these days talk about being independent but when it comes to being jellous of something, i think its funny that they get all miffed about someone giving the car more attention then to them
