Remove rear bench seat
Remove all 3 rear headrests
Remove rear seat back
Remove rear inside lights
Remove rear pillar covers
Remove rear parcel shelf
Drill holes in the parcel shelf 45 degree angled slot
Bolt on the clips that hold the blind in place
Put it all back together
The PDF file in the above link really goes through step by step with good instructions. I think its a nice addition to the Beast and even if after you install it you don't want to use it all the time, it rolls back and sits nicely when not in use.
It did take me a little longer than I thought, overall about an hour but I took my time and kept going back inside to warm up, it was only about 50 degrees today (that's cold for the south, BTW) Hopes this help any of you that are considering this mod.
I can't believe you went to all that trouble to install a blind... I have an automatic blind in mine, and the only times I've used it, was when showing off all my options to a collegue. That was in a garage
Never knew there were people actually using the blind oohhh:
For only $114, the cost really isn't an issue. It's hard to analyze the time, I enjoy doing mods to my car and I had a free Sunday afternoon. I put football on the TV in my garage and went to work. I would do it again if that's the question.

You may not have had enough time to analyze it yet, but do you think it was worth the $ and install time?

I guess that this is why I was wondering if it was worth it. I didn't use the rear blind much when it was automatic. Are you going to climb back there all the time?
Nice install! I actually use the electric blinds all the time during the hot Florida summers. It adds to the tint that I have installed. Add that to the $45 front BMW windshield blind, and I think I've saved my interior from some harsh rays.

I use my blind frequently. Like then times when I have my 5 yr old in the back seat and the sun is behind us, and also when im driving at night and a vehicle with bright lights is behind me. One push and evverything is muted.
Auto rear blinds are great, i just wissh the sides were auto as well...
