Getting a new window sticker for a used car

I did a search using "window sticker" and came up empty.

Is it possible to get a window sticker printed for my '01 M5 like the one that was on the car when it was new on the dealer floor in '01?

Re: Getting a new window sticker for a used car

What is your goal?
- To have a momento?
- To get a list of the standard features on your car?
- To laugh at the EPA Gas Mileage estimates?
- To replace the odometer and sell the car as "new"?

Hi, again, vabchbmw ... I'm the guy you saw near Portland a month or so ago.

I don't think you can get another, but try searching on "Monroney Label." I'm not positive about the spelling of Monroney, but he is the congressman who introduced the bill that gave us the window stickers many years ago.

John.

Re: Getting a new window sticker for a used car

Thanks, jclyman. I am in Portland, OR, again. I just want a sticker for momento reasons if that makes any sense. I have seen your other posts. You had better keep that thing under 130. I should talk; I broke 100 four times in 14 miles of highway driving. Stupid, yes; fun, yes.

So far I have put about 550 miles on my car in the last two months (too much travel for work). It is very fun to say the least. I just love to step on it in third gear with sport mode on.

According to lore, he also owned or had a major interest in a string of truck sales lots. Guess why monroney stickers are NOT requried on trucks....

It totally makes sense. I fully understand the momento thing ... I feel the same way. Of course, I have mine as I bought the car new (also, have the one for my 323is ... picked up in Munich). My Mother had a 1970 Mercedes I picked up in Europe for her. We gave it to a charity about 3 or 4 years ago. They sold it to a guy in Amsterdam and he found my Mom's address somewhere in the car (he loves the car, by the way) and e-mailed her asking about the history of the car ... and, was wondering if she still had the Monroney ... after over 30 years. I looked, but couldn't find it ... although my Mom kept everything and someday (she passed away a couple of years ago) I'm sure I will run across it.

I only know about the Monroney thing, 'cause I worked for a BMW dealer in the '90s, and that's what we called them.

Oh, yes, driving the M5 ... what can I say ... anything over 100 is "foolish," but not stupid in my mind, and not only fun, but envigorating (keeps the blood flowing!), but how the **** do you keep it down! I love the car too, too much to take unnecessary chances, but when the coast is clear ... Whoppie! It keeps me young ...

Don't know if you read about my ticket outside of Vegas. The end of the story is that they lowered the fine (to $90), and ammended the ticket to read "Illegal Parking." But, getting it on the first day of a 2 and a half week trip slowed me down some ... But, those feelings have all passed by now ...

John.
