Help!! No cold air

I have lost the cold air. My heating system will only blow hot air at all temperatures on the climate control, it blows hot even with the AC button on or off. It does not matter if its right down at 16c or up at 30c it's hot all the time. NOW!! for the strange part, the center vents (above the radio) will let cold air in when the dial is turned to the blue color?? but all the rest of the vents still blow hot?? Has anyone come accross this?? Someone mentioned the aircon needs re-gassed, but I never used the aircon to begin with? (ie I never have the aircon button on.) Never that warm here!! So any ideas or suggestions would be great!!

Re: Help!! No cold air

Sounds like you either need to get a new compressor or it needs new "freon."

Freon (or modern equivalent) is coolant fluid.

Even if you don't use your aircon, you should switch it on once in a while just to keep the entire system moving regularly. Knowing the M5, it probably is programmed to do this automatically anyway!

England is pretty damp. If you use the windscreen defroster, it usually turns your aircon system on, since the air coming out of it is very dry. This aids in quickly defogging your windows.

Salty.

Re: Help!! No cold air

Even when defrosting the front window I always kept the AC off. But the AC is working ok, because when if I turn it on now, the air through the center vents (when dial is at blue) is freezing. So the AIRCON still works!! It's just every other place in the car blows hot air.
Put it like this, my climate control is right down at the loweset point today, 16c. The air is roasting through all the vents, if I turn the wee jog dial on the centre vents to blue I get cold air, but only through that centre vents!! Now if I switch the aircon on I still get the same thing, only the air through the centre vents is much colder. This shows that the AC is working ok. So anyone got any other suggestions??
