Re: Roller Sun Shield install instructions

I take this is a manually operated one rather than the electric one that comes as an option. I would be interested in seeing pics of the install when you are done as I am interested in getting something like this for my car.

I was looking for a roller shade that would fit (non BMW) but could never find a decent one. I just happened on this part in a BMW catalog for previous BMW models (it was at the parts counter at my dealer)

Hopefully a board member will have the install instructions

Re: Roller Sun Shield install instructions

What type of roller blind did you buy?? I installed an original factory BMW manual blind myself and all the BMW factory side blinds. Let me know what type you have? Rear blind is very simple to fit.

I have the BMW factory rear window manual blind. I just need the install instructions. I don't see how it is supposed to be installed. There are just a few parts that came with the blind and I can see how they all work, just not sure how it bolts onto the car.

Re: Roller Sun Shield install instructions

These are the instructions for the manual blind. I dont think there is an official retrofit kit for the powered one.

Re: Roller Sun Shield install instructions

Please take some pics and report back after you've installed the blinds. I'm sure a few of us would love to see what it looks like and the difficulty of the actual install. Thanks in advance!

Re: Roller Sun Shield install instructions

Yes, please take some pics and advise us of the difficulty of the install. I myself am very keen on doing the upgrade.

What is the cost, I only saw prices for the hooks, but not for the roller blind itself? Also, is it essentially the same material/fit/finish as the electric one, or is it perhaps a different/darker shade?

Cheers

i will be doing the upgrade on Sunday, and I'll take pictures and post them when I'm done. It looks like from the PDF that I will have to take the rear bench seat and upper back seats to get to the rear tray. Once that is done, it looks to be a simple install.

82-24-9-407-925 SUNBLIND KIT 1 $114.40

this is what I paid for it from Crevier

as far as the material, it looks to be identical in texture and color to the stock blinds, but I haven't spent much time around the stock ones. Quailty looks to be OEM, no issues with that.

Look for my post on Sunday
