OEM Wheels - Silver w/ Polished Lips

I haven't found any pictures of silver painted OEM wheels with polished lips on the board. A brief history.... My car was in the body shop to have some insurance work done and the body shop decided to take it upon themselves to paint my wheels the same color of the car. It looked like crap - and here in Dubai we have no one that can properly do the Shadow Chrome so I decided to do something different. I had the wheels repainted and had the lips polished. Its a neat look.

If anyone is interested in pictures I'll take a few and post them.

I was wondering when you were gonna share it with the board, I have seen them in the flesh and it looks cool, stick the pics on Jimmy, give em a treat mate. Do an audio file of the hamman exhaust with the new cross pipes aswell, swwweeeeeet.
p.s. still in cooldown after being in the back seat of your beast .(Whoops that sounds dodgy , not into camels)
Get mine back tonight hopefully.

Re: OEM Wheels - Silver w/ Polished Lips

After that Camel story you just told me in the mall I just had a chuckle! Can a Camel and a man really fall in love? HAHAHA

I have some parts on order and some ideas in mind as you know in terms of cosmetic changes to the beast. I think I'll keep them low-key until I install them for now. Speaking of that - I have had been waiting on a parts order from Hamman for a month and a half now!

Maybe I should do a complete post in a month or so.I will go get the car washed and take some pics of the wheels though.

Can't wait to see the finished detail on your car this weekend Will.

Jimmy

Re: OEM Wheels - Silver w/ Polished Lips

I would like to see 'em - please post some pics.

I had my 540's M5 (OEM) wheels refinished - they turned out darker - a metalic darker grey. I kind of liked them but not as much as the original shadow chrome. So I had to go out and buy a new set of wheels (these ones came with an M5 however)

Re: OEM Wheels - Silver w/ Polished Lips

My wheels don't look as nice as those! Now I don't want to put the pics up. hahaha

I tried looking for a place to chrome mine here - but I saw the way the chrome jobs bubbled and peeled after a few months. We just don't have access to the same resources over here.

Do you know how hard it was to find someone to polish my lips the way I wanted..... ****!

But I am slowly making my way through the maze here. Custom X pipe and polished lips can be done. Now to get Dragon Mart to sell me sink drains without the sinks attached is the next goal. hahaha

Did your buddy from SE Asia send the cd?

I am getting excited about that next chapter in the.... as I coin it - "Building the Beast in the Middle East". Thats what I'll call my thread when its done!

mmm maybe I can change my post name

Re: OEM Wheels - Silver w/ Polished Lips

I had the same idea to get new wheels.... But the 911 Turbo wheels look quite a bit different than my OEM's

Re: OEM Wheels - Silver w/ Polished Lips

Jimmy , Well I prefer to do it the way Phil did with his wheels ..they look great specially while the car is on the street .. u can look at the video and u can see how sexy they look .. I don't really advise to go for the chrome job .. anyway if you want . I know some one who does the chrome .. they give warranty as well ..

Ehssan

The first thing I did when I got my car was paint those ugly gun metal wheels SILVER!

it looks great Ahmed ,,well you know what , when the car color is dark ,painting the rims with silver color will be nice .. but when u have a silver color car ,, it wont be nice looking to have the rims same color as the car itself .. but Jimmy did a great job with a chrome lip only in his rims ..looks amazing man .. so sexy while it on the street .. just the sun light refletc on the shiny lips and looks great ..
