I just updated my mk2 to mk3 (got it for free or els I would have gone to mk4) anyhow....after putting in the V25 software it is asking for a key cd or a V17 disc.
is there any way around this....or does anyone have a disc they would be willing to let me buy or borrow?

I also don't seem to have the accept screen when I first go into the nav??
any ideas???
edit...the car seems to think I am 3000 miles away from home.....what could be going on here?

Same thing happened to me when I upgraded from MKII to MKIII, I'm in SC but the NAV system thought I was in Los Angeles. After reading a few posts, it turns out the Satellite has to "find" you. I took it out for a drive and within a few miles it found me. I've read that if the satellite doesnt find you, find an empty parking lot and park there with the car running, and wait to see if Mother can find her M5.

that makes sense...but I'm still confused why I no longer have the "accept" screen when I first start the car?

That didn't happen to me, but when I was researching the upgrade, I found out that sometimes the "accept" screen does go away after a certain sequence of upgrade/downgrade of the operating system. My accept screen still comes on, I wish it would go away. But I can live with it, the MKIII and widescreen is one of the best upgrades I have done to the car.
well...I just drove around for over an hour and the navigation still thinks the car is in CA (3200 miles away). I have tried upodating the system with v25 a couple of times and it says it has updated fine.
any other ideas on how to get this system to figure out where I am?

I know this is a silly question, but you did connect the antenna to the back of the MKIII unit, right? On the MKII, it's not connect directly to the computer, there is small coax cable plugged into the trimble (sp) unit way behind the radio that needs to be unplugged from the old system and plugged directly into the MKIII.
