Just noticed recently that after I come back from a drive and switch off the engine there is a "motor" that seems to be running. It sound like it is under the part shown in the picture with the arrow. I go back to the car and I turn the ignition on and switch it off again and the noise goes away.
Anyone know what it is? Should it stay on? Should I get it checked? Thanks in advance.

I think it is your car telling you it wants you to drive it more! You need to satisfy its desire! ;-)
Seriously: if you donīt switch the ignition on and off again, how long does the motor keep running?

Is those valves supposed to operate after shutdown?

No..... they are to shut down as the rest of the electronic's come to rest once the key is removed....... I do not recall whether they are a part of the delayed shut down in which case it would be a few seconds otherwise it should be immediate.

Then I think we can safely advice Kin Mak to have the dealer look into the matter.
