mp3 player installation tomorrow URGENT

I am having a JVC 12 disc MP3 player installed in my boot (trunk for US guys) and the installer said he would route it through my radio, couldnt I have it routed into the AV slot of the Monitor and have it show the MP3 tracks on the screen? Surely this would go through the sound system I have the upgraded M sound system as an individual option.
Any ideas would appreciate your assistance.

This is no real help tp you but I'll hazard a guess and say "no" with the JVC, although this is something that an installer should be able to tell you (at least in North America). Personally, that's what I pay $$ to the installer for.

The comment "route it through the radio" really concerns me........

Is this an RF solution?? Yuk. Since the installer has chosen a JVC 12 disk changer, this tells me he likely has no clue how to properly integrate aftermarket components to an E39 BMW. There is a specific list of Alpine-compatible mp3 CD changers that properly integrate to the BMW busswork to facilitate NAV screen display of songs and control up/down song access etc. Last I checked, JVC is not one of them.

I am guessing he's using a silly RF radio adapter or some other bandaid to install on your car.

There are many new options for E39 mp3 & CD integration that allow mp3 & even wma and playlists without add-on gizmos, wires, remotes or gadgets screwed to your dashboard. You need to study up and educate your installer on the proper hardware and interfaces or find somebody that actually specializes in newer BMW audio.
