Pics of cracked Tubi tip

So, you may have seen an earlier post about the inner diameter of my Tubi tip appearing to have cracked. Here are some pictures.

Re: Pics of cracked Tubi tip

Not really cracked to me, more like peeling or curb rash on a wheel.

Re: Pics of cracked Tubi tip

Errr. Looks like it's split at the seam.
Not a biggie, should not affect performance but just the looks.

BTW, my tubi is black on the inside from the exhaust soot.
Maybe you should not clean it so well so you cannot see the rust stains and the split!

Re: Pics of cracked Tubi tip

That does not look like curb rash. Split/Cracked I still would not expect that from a quality exhaust system. Not good!!

If it were curb rash, you would probably see scratches also around the perimeter of the tip. Not so here and maybe you cannot tell from these pictures. I'm no weld expert, but it appears a welded joint failed.

DavidsM5-True, won't effect performance, but this is not something to be expected from a $2k exhaust with only 11k miles/12 months of use.

Completely agree - this is more than a seeming 'curb rash'. Not the defect (and it clearly is) one would expect from such name (and pricetag).

No matter if it affects performance or not, I would seriously go back to Tubi directly and try to work it out. They must cover 'craftsmanship' faults, especially since this is a yr old... Too much reputation would be at stake for them to simply disregard it IMO.

Didn't literally mean curb rash just that kind of thing.
