Purchasing a used M5, what to be carefull about?

Hi guys,
Im thinking of buying a 2000. carbon black M5 with 90000km in Munich.
Im going there next week so Ill check it out for myself. Now, I know a thing or two about used cars so I know if its worth the money or not, but still it is an M5 and I would like to know what parts of the car I shold be extra carefull about. Things that could be worn out or broken after 5 years and 90000km and be very costly to replace/fix.

The car is fully loaded and regularly serviced, it would go for about 17000€ ( for export) but im hoping Ill get the price down to about 16k€ if I like the car
Interior is in two tone red/black leather with aluminum trim.
Another color combo I like would be Lemans blue/caramel, but they are pretty rare.

All input is apreciated

(Hopefully) Future M5 owner, Ozren

Re: Purchasing a used M5, what to be carefull about?

To me, price is not #1, its about getting the best used car you can find. If you go on the cheap, its likely you will get stung.

A good mechanic is a start. Munich has plenty I am sure and there are likely folks on this site in Germany who can refer you to one. Of course if you search this site on that year you might find some other key points to consider. Of course how the owner cared (or not) for that car will have an impact that may not be apparent when you first look at it. Gutzy buying a used car from an unknown party in another country. Good luck.

Well, got back from Munich, and it was only veni, vedi, and not vici
The carbon black M5 looks great, it never had an accident, interiour looks pretty good to (i dare to say good as new). Unfortunately the dealer was not there so I could not try the car.

I did not have enough time to go check out the BMW-approved used M5-s at the BMW Niederlassung but I am told that prices there ara a bit higher than anywhere else. Is the price-up worth it?
Next time around the Niederlassnug will be my first stop.

Here are a couple of pics of the beast
