Short Shifter installed....

I've installed the short shifter, my question is? now it hard to shift into gears! Is that normal and it's more stiff, or do you think there is something going on with my trans?

Re: Short Shifter installed....

I dont know if hard is a correct description, but yes with a short shifter there should be more effort per say to throw the gears around, but as your shifter breaks in it should get a little better, give it a week and see if you still think it is difficult, I have a feeling you will adjust and like the new feel, but who knows maybe its just me, Josh

Re: Short Shifter installed....

Since you are changing the angle on the shifter to make it shorter, you are going to have to use more power to acheive the shift. It is normal and will loosen up with time. Nothing to worry about. Hope this helps.

Re: Short Shifter installed....

Give it time, but in the mean time go to the gym

Fluids can help, but the getrag gearboxes are known for being stiff and the short shifter just brings this out more. You did the DSSR as well correct?

Got mine installed last week and I must say I love it. I on the other hand love the notchy feel. I really don't want it to get to loose or to easy to shift.
