SES light on, "Secondary Air Flow Low" Fault

I recently had the SES light on, with the "Secondary Air Flow Low", fault code "AA" on the Peake Research Code Reader, a different # for the dealer's code reader, apparently those may be PO410 through PO419.

I am starting this thread because I first thought, and the service advisor at the dealer told me, that the secondary air pump and shut off valve need to be replaced. Then, after reading the "Poll on Carbon Build-up Issue - All Members Please Read" thread and the " FAQ on Carbon Build-Up Issue (First Attempt)", especially the next to last page where LLcoolM5 documents his DIY repair, that it may not be the pump but rather a blocked secondary air tube and possibly gummed up valve as well. If you are experiencing the SES light and "Secondary Air Flow Low" fault, please read those 2 threads prior to having the dealer just replace the pump. If the pump is not making a loud noise on cold start-up (pump is in front of the passengers front tire) then it may very well be good. Try the tube cleaning approach before having the dealer clean your heads for $8k, or fighting them for a "good will" repair or having them replace the pump and valve only to find out that your SES comes back on a couple days later.

          Just my 0.0166243 EURO's.
