The thread below got me thinking about using a heat-reflective tape on the underside of the airbox. I found an high-temperature aluminum tape that utilizes a silicone adhesive, made by 3M, that I'm in the process of sourcing. Do any of the engineers here have a suggestion (something simple) as to how I can measure before/after temperatures inside the airbox w/o drilling holes or buying anything that would be a one-shot usage item? I'll probably do it when I'm in California so I can have similar, back-to-back days to take readings. Is there a stick-on temperature indicator that changes color that I can attach to the air filter, for example?

Do a search. I remember Greg did an extensive test of the air temp inside the air filter box to get a sense for how IATS relocation worked. He bought a cooking thermometer or something but I don't remember how he hooked it up.

Like Darryl said, do a search for 'greg' and heat testing. He did a pretty comprehensive write up with various probes in and around the intake tracts. I think there would be more value in insulating the underside of the plenum, it's metal and it gets hot. The coldest air in the airboxes will heat up as it arrives in the plenum.
