I think the stock M5 brakes will fit any 5 series. I know a few guys who have swapped out there stock 5 series brakes for the M5 ones. The suspension doesnt fit any other 5 series. The M5 is heavier than all other 5's so if you installed it on say a 540, you'ld actually raise the front of the 540 by about 1/2".

Are you sure about that? So far as I can tell that's an 'urban legend'.
The S62 is fractionally heavier than the M62TU. Otherwise the car is slightly heavier but all that weight is unsprung - brakes and wheels.
Same goes for the rear, in exchange for the heavier exhaust and the underbody brace the M5 loses the spare so the net difference is minimal.
What's a good price for a set of M5 factory brake calipers and rotors?
I have a set.

I've done it. Yes it's true. I don't think it's a weight issue- the struts from the M5 have their spring perches mounted higher than the 540 ones do, and the rear M5 springs have one more coil in them. My 540 ended up looking like a 540xi!
So I had the setup removed and replaced with aftermarket stuff. much better.
