Mike's 2000 Alpine on O6SW refresh

I purchased this car in February 2017 from a fellow forum member, the owner before him was also a forum member. I have been looking on and off for the right E39 M5 for me for years. I thought it was just the body style that drew me to them, so in 2012 I purchased a very clean two owner 2001 525i sport premium 5 speed. That car lasted about 9 months before I sold it due to being a compromise from the start.

My M5 is a 2000 model year (May production) Alpine White on black complete Nappa Point leather. It had 77,465 miles on it upon purchase. It is currently middle of May 2017 and I'm at 81,000 already. I can't stop driving it. Upon purchase the car already had 16x9 nav screen, muffler delete with unobtanium tips, facelift hella euro lights, ECS gloss black kidneys, e60 ssk, and a zhp knob.

Since purchase I have done the following
-Square wheel setup Refinished by Prince wrapped in S04 pole positions
-Ebay porkchops
-Removed original clear bra
-Installed and wired up OE angel eye bulbs in the existing Hella Euro LCI headlights
-Installed Morimoto XB35 4300K D2S bulbs to replace the aging 85122 low beam bulbs
-Installed a eBay brand carbon rear diffuser (unsure on this)
-LED license plate lights (unsure on this as well, too modern looking)
-OEM US spec LCI Celis Tails
-BM53 + OEM aux kit running through a bluetooth module
-MK4 nav + Western 2015 DVD
-Osram diadem rear turn signals
-Sylvania SilverStar blue chrome amber front signals
-New OE kidney grilles
-Removed 4 dents via PDR
-New pads and front rotors
-New lemforeder thrust arms
-LLumar airblue80 tint
-New OE floormats (not pictured)

Up next on my Radar for the car is..
-Dinan springs
-Koni Yellows
-Eibach rear swaybar (En route)
-Slimmbones front lip
-Alpha N
-Facelift tri-stich steering wheel
-Possibly supercharger after I pay it off and buy some property?

Drove my 2000 six speed 88,000 great miles than traded in for 2008 V10 6sp. Put 100,000 on this and plan to drive it to parts in another 150,000. Both cars by far the most comfortable car you can buy to do 145 with three passengers, embarrass all four bangers, and officers don't even look twice. Don't forget that quart of oil every six weeks.

Thumbs up

Lucky car. Sounds like it's been in good hands and continues to be. Congratulations again! I'll say it every time I see one- Alpine white on the e39 M5 is just beautiful. Funny, because in general I don't care for white vehicles. I agree that the uber bright LED lights can look out of place on the e39. They also can be a little too "look at me" for my taste. Thanks for sharing, the pics are great.

Congrats, the car is beautiful! I wish mine was as loved interior wise as it was mechanically. So far I've had to replace the Nav computer and screen. Change bulbs in the gauge cluster, remove all the flickering LEDs PO installed, fixed the rear quarter window sunblind, fix rear door panel, replace LED halo bulbs because they were driving the LCM crazy giving me errors not related to the halos.

Otherwise the car is great. Love it so much.

Good looking car. I also am not huge fan of white cars. But M cars look good in white! I had an AW E36 M3.

Looks great! How do you get by without front plates in Washington? I don't want to use my front plate but stupid rules in Washington requires the front license plate.
