How to remove armrest oddment tray?

Been searching for an hour and can't find an specific mention of how to remove the small plastic storage tray in the standard/ factory sliding armrest. Old one is beaten up and bought new one from RealOEM.

All I have found are threads detailing how to remove the entire armrest. Is that necessary? I ask because the new part looks like it doesnt screw in (ie would just pop in).

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

I think you slide a credit card down the side of the tray and it will pop out as it's held by a clip either side

I called Amex and Visa and asked them how to remove the piece and neither knew what I was talking about. Pretty disappointing as I've been a loyal customer of both for a long time. Maybe you have to have Platinum cards to get such advice?
