Hi, just picked up a Carbon Black M5, and one of the wheels appeared to have black paint on it, after closer inspection it appears that the alloy paint is/or has been rubbed off......!! Can anyone recommend anyone in the Berkshire Area (UK) who refurbs wheels (and has experienced) No physical damage to wheels - just this mark!!

Or should I speak directly with a BMW main dealer?

The wheels are very difficult to refinish as the color is not solid but shaded chrome (Shadow chrome) over a bleck base coat. This makes it difficult to achieve a match to the factory finish when repainting. I'd suggest you talk to the dealer, or plan on refinishing at least one side, if not all, of the wheels.

What about graphite centres and silver rims ?

Unfortunately the shadow chrome wears off and shows the black under it. I know from experience. I might just leave them as is for the moment, I've heard that the wheels are very difficult to refurb. and also very expensive. Good Luck
